Call for Expressions of Interest: CCO Clinical Lead – Patient Reported Outcomes & Symptom Management

The PROs and Symptom Management Program at Cancer Care Ontario would like to announce that Dr. Lisa Barbera will be stepping down as Provincial Clinical Lead for Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) at CCO at the end of June. Lisa has accepted a new position as the Division Head of Radiation Oncology, Cummings School of Medicine at the University of Calgary, and Section Chief of Radiation Oncology, Cancer Control Alberta at Alberta Health Services. We would like to thank Lisa for all her contributions over the past 3 years. We will miss Lisa and wish her success in her new role in Alberta.

ROLE TITLE: Clinical Lead, Patient Reported Outcomes and Symptom Management

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Clinical Programs and Quality Initiatives

LOCATION: 620 University Avenue, Toronto, ON

ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENT: 1 day/week   TERM: 2 years (potential of up to 2 one-year renewal terms)

POSITION SUMMARY Cancer Care Ontario is seeking expressions of interest from clinicians for the position of Clinical Lead, Patient Reported Outcomes and Symptom Management. This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic leadership to drive quality improvement, thereby improving the patient’s experience and quality of life. The Ontario Cancer Plan IV has a commitment to ensure the delivery of responsive and respectful care, optimizing individuals’ quality of life across the cancer care continuum. Capturing real-time patient reported outcomes (PROs) and improving symptom management are strategic objectives that underpin this commitment.
