Coordinator

Reporting to the Integration Lead for Primary Care, the coordinator plays an integral role in achieving the objectives of Alberta Cancer Prevention Legacy Fund, His/her goal is to ensure that primary care projects achieve the maximum impact on cancer screening and prevention in primary care settings. Working on multiple projects, simultaneously, the coordinator will successfully plan, impement and assist with evaluation of projects in the Primary Care Innovation Stream. The coordinator engages with AHS provincial departments and stakeholders in a variety of primary care settings to move projects forward.  He/she investigates and implements best practice interventions and works collaboratively with other team members.
Qualifications:

Education:
– A bachelors degree in a Healthcare related field required
– Masters level (or equivalent) in public health, population health, health promotion, health administration, or healthcare related field is preferred

Experience, Skills and Competencies:
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a health setting (prefer Primary Care or Chronic Disease Management/Prevention)
– Knowledge of cancer prevention modifiable risk factors
– Knowledge of primary care and chronic disease prevention, including strategies and best practice related to cancer prevention and screening
– Experience with research and project management methodology, processes and tools an asset
– Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft programs an asset
– Ability to engage with and sustain complex relationships with high level external and internal key stakeholders
– Engage with multidisciplinary front line health care providers in primary care.
– Expert facilitation skills especially with multiple stakeholders
– Advanced written and oral communication skills
– Experience with managing effective collaborations, advisory/working groups and steering committees
– Conflict management expertise focusing on group dynamics and competing priorities
– Ability to navigate or familiarity with AHS systems and processes
– Ability to manage and prioritize work and meet deadlines
– Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team

 Project Manager

The IIT Project Manager will use their vast clinical trials experience to lead the set up and implementation of funded investigator initiated cancer trials (IIT).  This individual will work in collaboration with our Principal Investigators, Clinical Trials Unit staff, various internal and external departments and other AHS facilities, or regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
– Minimum of 5 years clinical trial experience, including coordinating clinical trials, is required.
– Completion of an approved Clinical Research or Project Management Program preferred.
– Strong understanding of Health Canada Division 5 regulations
– SOCRA/ACRP certification preferred.
– Strong interpersonal communication, verbal communication, writing, presentation, and facilitation skills.
– Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and Internet Explorer/Email required.
– Experience with other computer programs/databases is an asset (e.g Netcare, Sharepoint, eCRF’s, Redcap, etc).
– Proven organizational skills as demonstrated by prior experience in project management or coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
– Strong problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
– Team building skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team structure are also necessary.
