What type of cancer research does ARCC take part in?
ARCC plays a role in the entire journey of cancer, including prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment. We focus on all cancers using various data and methods to improve cancer control and the delivery of cancer care.
What type of research projects have been funded in the past by ARCC?

Is there a list of themes ARCC’s research is structured into?
ARCC’s research is organized into four themes:
- Health Technology Assessment
- Health Systems, Services, and Policy
- Societal Values & Public Engagement
- Survivorship
Knowledge Translation remains a core focus among all Research Areas.

Network
Are there any pre-requisites one must have in order to join ARCC?
There are no pre-requisites in order to become a member of ARCC. However, members of ARCC must show a great deal of interest in cancer care. Canadian researchers, decision makers, clinicians and students interested in cancer are welcome to apply.
What are the benefits of joining ARCC?
Members of ARCC have access to program and methods webinars and receive discounted rates to attend the annual ARCC conference. Members are able to apply for ARCC funding initiatives, including seed grant and studentship competitions. ARCC Members can also communicate and connect through our website, and receive regular communications on upcoming happenings in applied cancer control research. *New* ARCC members can access author fee discounts when publishing with the journal Current Oncology. What is the annual ARCC conference?
The ARCC Conference is our signature event and an integral part of the applied cancer research community featuring health economics, services, policy, and ethics. The conference brings together strong national leadership, presentations from across the country providing for excellent network and knowledge exchange opportunities.

Can I connect with other researchers and decision makers without becoming a member? Are there any tools available to reach out to other researchers nationwide about my research projects?
The advantage of becoming a member of ARCC is the accessibility to communicate with other members. Only members have access to the ARCC Network, but membership is absolutely free – join us today!
What are the different types of webinars available to members, and how can I sign up for them?
ARCC offers webinars to get involved with various research projects and connect with other researchers to discuss future research initiatives. Details of all webinars and invites are sent directly to all ARCC members and are posted in our events calendar once confirmed. Can members outside of Canada join ARCC?
Yes – interested individuals outside of Canada are welcome to submit an application to ARCC.
Capacity Building
As a Graduate student, is there any way I can join ARCC and learn more about cancer control?
Graduate students are welcome to join ARCC and also receive a discounted rate to our signature conference and access to webinars. ARCC also has an informal Mentorship Program where we connect students with senior researchers who provide insight on their experience in similar fields of interest – email ARCC@cc-arcc.ca if you are interested in participating in this program.
Can I share information about my research project or recent publication with the ARCC network?
Yes! Please email ARCC@cc-arcc.ca for more details on sharing your information in future newsletters.
