Pre-Announcement: Chair of Excellence in Research in HSS : Health democracy/empowerment in oncology

The French National Cancer Institute (INCa), Aix-Marseille University, the Paoli-Calmettes Institute (IPC) and the SESSTIM research unit are opening a University Chair in Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) applied to cancer.

The general objective of this Chair is to develop research programs in HSS on empowerment or health democracy in the cancer field.

The research program should be ambitious, innovative and visible at the national and international levels.

This program can come from all HSS disciplinary fields and can focus in a large field of research from participation in health-related decision (shared decision-making) to involvement in the elaboration of politics and priorities in cancer.

The position, in Marseille (France), is open to French or foreign scientists, tenured or under contract.

The call for applications will be published in January 2020. The chair will be awarded at the end of the first semester of 2020.

L’Institut national du cancer (INCa), l’université Aix-Marseille, l’Institut Paoli-Calmettes et le SESSTIM vont créer une chaire universitaire en recherche en sciences humaines et sociales (SHS) appliquées au cancer.

L’objectif général de cette chaire sera de développer la recherche en SHS sur la thématique de la démocratie sanitaire / l’empowerment en cancérologie dans le cadre d’un programme ambitieux, novateur et visible aux niveaux national et international.

Ce programme pourra mobiliser toutes les disciplines des SHS et s’inscrire dans un large champ allant de la participation dans les choix de santé (décision partagée) à l’implication dans l’élaboration des politiques et priorités en cancérologie.

Cette chaire de recherche sera basée à Marseille. Elle sera ouverte à tout scientifique français ou étranger, titulaire ou contractuel.

L’appel à candidature sera publié en janvier 2020. L’attribution de la chaire se fera à la fin du 1^er semestre 2020.
