ARCC aims to advance the practice of knowledge translation (KT). The practice of KT is about closing the gap between what users of research know and what they do. This is done by moving knowledge into action or moving evidence into practice.
We work closely with researchers, clinicians and decision makers to facilitate the application of high-quality research evidence with the goals to improve cancer control practices services and policies. We support the idea that stakeholders should have access to relevant and innovative research, and aim to produce tools, publications and events that engage Canadians in cancer-related issues that lead to measureable and sustained improvements in cancer control.
ARCC embraces the KT definition of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, which is:
“KT is a dynamic and iterative process that includes the synthesis, dissemination, exchange and ethically sound application of knowledge to improve the health of Canadians, provide more effective services and products, and improve the system.”
We aim to advance the knowledge translation scientific enterprise within the cancer control context. Knowledge translation science is about identifying the factors related of knowledge use and effective methods of promoting the uptake of knowledge including evaluating implementation outcomes.
