ARCC Research

As independent researchers working together, we pursue a diverse, integrated program of  health economics, services, policy and ethics research. Our goal is to excel at research and scholarship in these fields as they relate to cancer, to make advances informed by an interdisciplinary perspective, and to produce innovations in theory and practice.

ARCC’s research is organized under four themes:

Health Technology Assessment
This program aims to find ways to help the health care system provide effective, sustainable care even as we face a rapidly increasing number of expensive cancer treatments.

Health Systems, Services and Policy
This program will examine issues of access and quality of care; factors affecting the organization, delivery and use of cancer services; and cancer services’ funding, financing and regulation.

Societal Values and Public Engagement
This program examines how to incorporate public opinion into health care system decision making.

Survivorship
This program will examine issues relating to the physical, psychosocial and economic impact of a cancer on survivors and families that can best be addressed by health and social care systems.

Knowledge Translation
This program aims to advance the knowledge translation scientific enterprise within the cancer control context.
