Institute of Cancer Research Travel Award

CIHR-ICR will provide funding for Trainees only (persons registered in a master’s or doctoral program or at the post-doctoral or post-health professional degree stage) to present their own research (oral or poster), relevant to the Institute’s mandate or strategic priorities, at national or international meetings, conferences or symposia. Current Research Priority Areas are:

• Targeting High Fatality Cancers
• Health Economics and Health Services Research in Cancer Control
• Redressing Cancer Risk Factor Disparities and Prevention Service Inequities

Funding Available:

• $20,000 is available to fund applications relevant to the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research.

• The maximum amount for a single award is $1,000.

International Agency for Research (IARC) on Cancer 50th Anniversary Conference “Global Cancer: Occurrence, Causes, and Avenues to Prevention”

CIHR-ICR encourages applications from New Investigators (newly established principal investigators / new faculty members  within their first 5 years of academic appointment) and Trainees (persons registered in a master’s or doctoral program or at the post-doctoral or post-health professional degree stage) who would like to attend and present their own research (oral or poster) at the International Agency for Research on Cancer 50th Anniversary Conference “Global Cancer: Occurrence, Causes, and Avenues to Prevention”  June 7-10, 2016 in Lyon France.

Priority will be given to applicants who are presenting projects in the following research areas:

• Cancer prevention
• Evaluating Disparities/Inequities in vulnerable populations

Specific Eligibility Requirements:

• Offer of acceptance confirming your abstract was accepted for presentation at the International Agency for Research on Cancer 50th Anniversary Conference “Global Cancer: Occurrence, Causes, and Avenues to Prevention”.  Abstract deadline is January 15th. Please forward your acceptance by e-mail to ICSTravelAwards@cihr-irsc.gc.ca once it is received.

Funding Available:

• $15,000 is available to fund applications relevant to the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research
• A maximum of $3,000 will be available for each award to cover the costs of attending the conference.
