Welcoming Dr. Kednapa Thavorn as Co-Director of ARCC
The Canadian Centre for Applied Research in Cancer Control (ARCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kednapa Thavorn as Co-Director, joining Dr. Kelvin Chan and Dr. Stuart Peacock in leading the organization.
This leadership addition marks an important step in ARCC’s continued evolution and reflects a commitment to strengthening our national network and advancing impactful, policy-relevant cancer research.
Dr. Thavorn has been an integral member of the ARCC community for many years. She is internationally recognized for her expertise in cancer health economics and health technology assessment, and for her leadership in advancing innovative methods in economic evaluation. Her work has been particularly influential in promoting the integration of patient perspectives and engagement into economic and policy decision-making—an area of growing importance in cancer research and care.

In her role as Co-Director, Dr. Thavorn will contribute to shaping ARCC’s strategic priorities, with a focus on advancing methodological excellence, supporting the next generation of researchers, and strengthening collaboration across disciplines and institutions.
This announcement builds on ARCC’s strong leadership foundation, following the last transition in 2015, and signals an exciting new chapter for the organization.
