OICR Recruiting: Biostatistician, Diagnostic Development
The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking a talented Biostatistician to join the Diagnostic Development (DD) program, which is focused on the development and validation of clinical assays to improve therapeutic selection for early cancers. The program aims to develop personalized medicine approaches that maximize the chance of positive outcomes for those diagnosed with cancer. The DD program includes internationally-recognized experts in biomarker discovery and validation, and actively works with diagnostics industry and biotech companies. Current work includes the use of next generation sequencing and gene expression analysis to discover biomarkers that stratify risk in breast cancer and prostate cancer, and the development of the methods needed to translate those biomarkers into the clinical laboratory. This position is closely integrated into both existing research programs and the development of innovative clinical trials in partnership with the Ottawa Hospital and the REthinking Clinical Trials (REaCT) Program.
The Biostatistician will join the DD Program, analyzing clinical cohorts with integrated biomarker analysis. A large portion of their time will also be focused on supporting the development, design and analysis of novel early clinical trials, both internally and for our external partners and collaborators.
This position will be based out of Toronto, however, travel to Ottawa will be required.
