Senior Scientific Leader, Diagnosis and Clinical Care (Part-time) – Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC)
Overview of Role
Reporting to the Vice-President, Cancer Control, the Senior Scientific Leader, Diagnosis and Clinical Care (D&CC) will provide content-specific advice and expertise in the area of diagnosis and clinical care with a view to advancing high-quality work in these areas. The Senior Scientific Leader will work with staff and other leads in key areas, including improving quality and standardization of pan-Canadian reporting and care in the areas of pathology, radiation oncology and surgery.
The Senior Scientific Leader (D&CC) will also work closely with the Partnership’s senior leaders to ensure that initiatives are developed and implemented to address key issues in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, supporting the organization’s commitments in its 2012–17 Strategic Plan. The Senior Scientific Leader will be responsible for leading the development of pan-Canadian work in diagnosis and clinical care to make a measurable impact on cancer outcomes across Canada, and build strong partnerships with other major cancer and public health stakeholders to identify new strategies in this area of cancer control to bring about more significant outcomes for Canadians.
This is a part-time opportunity to provide experienced leadership and vision in the areas cancer diagnosis and clinical care to a portfolio of pan-Canadian work. The goal is to have an impact on clinical practice to improve quality and benefit patient care, leading to greater system efficiency and a reduction of cancer mortality.
