SUMMARY:

The Senior Specialist, Health Promotion will coordinate a number of provincial Communities of Practice (CoPs) comprised of local public health professionals, NGO staff and researchers. CoPs facilitate knowledge exchange, cross-province communication, and support among practitioners.  They aim to build capacity to integrate research and practice-based evidence into public health programming.  They are also intended to enable PTCC to better and more efficiently identify knowledge gaps and coordinate capacity building activities in areas that practitioners identify as high priority or in which extra information and support are needed. In addition, the Senior Specialist, Health Promotion will be responsible for helping to identify new knowledge exchange strategies that could be introduced to enhance and build upon the CoP model.
